Hi, I purchased an Accu-Chek Performa in 2010. However, I have not used it for some time, a number of years, in fact. I need to replace the battery. However, I also wanted to check whether I will still be able to use it, after such a long time, and whether the chip code is still 'operational'? Thank you.

Hi. The monitor should be fine to use, however you will need to call Accu-Chek to obtain a new coding chip, as all new packets of strips will be code free. You can call Acc-Chek on 1800 251 816.
